Lisa Teasley

I wrote an essay about the fire, due to an arsonist, that burned our family home to the ground. The piece is called, Lost and Found in the Fire, and is about the process of my healing, and finding the blessing hidden in the outcome of tragey.

A week before Joan Didion died, I bought “Slouching Towards Bethlehem” since I had just turned in essays to an Italian publisher for a book on my native California, and I wanted to read what has been considered its quintessential portrait after I was done."
